Tara Devi Temple

Tara Devi Temple, nestled on Tara Devi Hill, 15.3 kilometres from Shimla, is a revered spiritual sanctuary that has stood for over 250 years. Perched at an altitude of 7,200 feet, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding lush valleys, dense forests, and snow-capped Himalayas. This tranquil temple is dedicated to Goddess Tara, an incarnation of Goddess Kali.

Hatu Mata Temple

Designed with ornate wooden architecture with wooden bands and Chinese-style carvings, Hatu Mata Temple is a favourite among travelers. Legend has it that during the Pandavas’ period of exile, they cooked there. There is the famous “Bheem Chulha,” two hearthstones still visible near the temple.

Kali Bari Temple

Sankat Mochan Temple

Following Jakhu Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple is one of the most visited in Shimla, dedicated to Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, and Lord Hanuman. Constructed in 1950 by a venerated spiritual leader intrigued by the beauty of the land in an impressive setting, this temple continues to be visited by devotees and pilgrims.

Dhingu Mata Temple

Dhingu Devi Mandir is for Goddess Durga and lies directly below Jakhu Hill. The temple is also a viewpoint that gives hypnotic views of Shimla Town and the Naldehra Valley. Its staircase climb is plentiful, but the spectacular views on the top make it an absolutely enjoyable ride.

Shiv Mandir (Lutru Mahadev)

As a site of worship to Lord Shiva, Lutru Mahadev Temple is considered among the finest shrines in Shimla city. It is approximately 4 km from Solan city, and has a statue constructed in the traditional Shikhara style and is a site of great tourist attraction for worshippers and architecture devotees.
